Darebin Parklands ArtistsThe Friends of Darebin Parklands are represented by artists whose works demonstrate their connection to this special place, exhibiting together in the Gleeson Centre. The Parklands are a source of inspiration, recreation and education for all. In return, these artists share its wonders with the wider world through visual arts.
Photographers, while walking or working in the parklands, capture the birds and unique aspects of the landscape. Works on paper in pencil, pen and watercolours, are often created ‘en plain air’. Bush resources are used to create sculptures. In tapestries and embroideries, thread and textile create evocative pictures.
