Sharon West is a multi media artist working in both 2D and 3D mediums including painting, drawing, paper mache, dioramas and assemblage. Humour is a key element within her subjects which explore Australian folklore and history. These themes include bushlore legends of Bunyips and Kangaroosters and also reimagining key events in Australian colonial history. Recent works have featured pastiches of Australian vintage souvenir art featuring imagined large tourist attractions constructed in diorama form using found objects and Mulga wood bases.
